Magical Lyrical Startup Ready~

So. Even if I’m desperately running low on money, I still manage to save up 3,000yen and bought 2 tickets and watched 2 movies in a day. First was Nanoha, second was Fate/Stay Night : Unlimited Blade Works. But however, since this entry is about Nanoha. So, Nanoha goes first.

And it was great. It was d’aww and b’aww (not me, the audience around me), it was a great nostalgia from watching the first season a year back, and of course, it’s great to see that Seven Arcs actually fixed a lot of story errors from the TV series, and this is of course shaping Nanoha the Movie one of the best alternative from the TV series.

But however, except for some new scenes, Nanoha the MOVIE 1st is a major retelling with some new scenes. So it wasn’t entirely a loss from waiting the movie considering the story isn’t even worth spoiling at all. The script and dialogues are especially easy to understand and it doesn’t take much to understand, and for those who watched Nanoha and also for the fans, they will also know how the terminology goes considering all of them remained unchanged (in fact, you can just refer the dialogue from the TV series). Characters are given a lot of focus. However, some of the minor characters have NO SPOKEN LINES. Effectively making the focus on major characters extremely heavy in a movie of 2 hours. Some characters are given more focus (Precia Testarossa) and the new character Linith is rather rough in terms of characterization (because she doesn’t appear much, but tells enough of her story to be able the audience to understand who she is in a general way) .

Animation is a lot more on the aspect of improvement. Since it’s a movie I expected the animation to be much better (afterall animators don’t earn 500yen per piece they draw and meeting at least 300 pieces quota per month for NOTHING, TV series frame is only 250yen per piece) but however the drawing is a lot more consistent than what I imagined it be. The best aspect among all would be the colors. Maybe I was watching the wrong quality of the *coughsubnotdvdcough*, but the colors are no longer so vibrant it hurts. The color used in the movie flows smoothly with the mood of the movie and brought out the flesh of the animation without causing irritations. The music is also highly improved, though some of the old songs are brought into the movie. I would expect orchestrated soundtrack but thinking about it, I might be expecting too much. I certainly do not have to comment about the seiyuus because they are just as good as what they are from the TV series.

The only thing that left me in despair is how hard is it for them to announce the 2nd movie…Personally I want Nanoha A’s to be movie-fied more than anything.

In the end, I did not pay 1,500yen for nothing, and certainly it’s not a waste of time watching the show. Though Unlimited Blade Works is however another different story altogether, I don’t really need to say much about the first Nanoha movie that made me feel nostalgic from the enjoyment I got from the TV series counterpart since I really enjoyed it. And for those who ship pairings in this movie like the famous Nanoha x Fate. Wow, you sure got more from it when it comes to the DVD/Blu-Ray market.

And lastly of course, scans are also included to end this entry, so enjoy.

Enjoy. However due to resolution restrictions and all, Unless you pay me money to buy another booklet of this movie, I do not want to scan anymore because it does damage my booklet a bit. However not too serious. So hopefully this is enough for you.

Thank you so much for your review m_m I’m glad the first comment I read about the Movie sounds that good. I can now wait (more) patiently for the BR release :) .
The scans of the booklets are more than welcome too. Could maybe confirm if Fate have an henshin scene in the Movie? (I can see the sketches, but I’d just want to confirm that point).

Dammit, no announcements on the Blu-Ray version yet?!

… maybe I should start a signature campaign to get Cathay Pacific to bring this to Malaysia.
